We loved the quirkiness of the hotel, which is in an excellent location. The hotel is full of charm and has lots of talking points not least the numerous writing desks and lecterns. The well was very neat. The room was clean and a good size; my wife loved having a separate lounge. The bathroom was compact and clean. Access to the leisure facilities consisting of swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna was very much appreciated. The facilities were looking a little tired in places but very welcome, nonetheless. The staff in both the hotel and the leisure facilities were very helpful, friendly and efficient. The full English breakfast was everything you want in a breakfast, a good selection of food served hot by friendly staff. My wife enjoyed the cereals and toast accompanied by lashings of tea, decaffeinated. We would be happy to stay in the future the location means very easy access to York.

Very friendly and approachable staff Excellent food. Very large full english breakfast. Continental type breakfast available with a good selection.. Bedroom and bathroom allthough a little tired were lovely and clean. Bar food was avalable, both at lunch and dinner and was of a very good standard. The gymnasium look well equipped although we didn't use it and of course you could have the experience of the spa. Good place to stay for a visit into any of the near by sea side resorts. Market town of Beverley only 25 mins away well worth a visit.

Beautiful building with lots of character features. Interesting place to stay. Room was huge - bigger than some flats! Black out curtains were brilliant. Very quiet to say it’s on a high street. Bedroom and bathroom was spotlessly clean. Much better than a modern hotel where every room is plain and boring. Good parking facility. Great location. Lovely accommodating staff. Breakfast was ok. Good selection.

Stayed one night in an Executive Double Room. We loved the room, it was very big and decorated in an "Old World" style. The bed was also big and we had a very comfortable nights sleep. As a guest of the hotel we could use the spa facilities for free (excluding treatments) which was a bonus. The staff were all very friendly and polite. We had a very pleasant stay.

Location excellent in the heart of this lovely town very close to good food outlets. Excellent gym - not new and glamorous, but large and with lots of sturdy well-used and maintained equipment. Quirky small but fun pool and jacuzzi in basement area. Charming older property. Very obliging and friendly staff. Tea coffee making facilities in rooms. Good size bath.
